I have writing experience in different areas, such as professional scientific writing and writing for the general public, for example for science outreach blogs.
Writing aimed at the general public
Star Trek
In 2019 I had the pleasure of writing a guest blog post for the official Star Trek website about galaxies. You can find the blog post here: “What even is a galaxy, exactly?”
CANDELS
In 2012, my colleagues from the CANDELS collaboration and I started an astronomy outreach blog for the CANDELS project to which a large number of the team members contributed. You can follow the CANDELS collaboration also on Facebook and Twitter. The blog was active between 2012 and 2016 and covered many different topics, such as the research results of the project,
These are the topics and direct links to each of my posts:
- The VIMOS UltraDeep Survey – a spectroscopic survey of high redshift galaxies
- Preparing
Spectroscopy ObservationsMulti Object - Project Astro Kick-off at Donaldson Elementary School
- Not a derby but the CANDELS 2013 team meeting
- Reaching out for CANDELS outreach
- Observing Comet PanSTARRS
- 2013 – The Year of Comets
- The week of the HST deadline
- And the Winner is
…. - 3000 astronomers in Long Beach
- Measuring the Universe
- How to Measure the Star Formation Rates of Galaxies
- 1 teacher + 1 astronomer = Project ASTRO
